Great Yarmouth & Gorleston Young Carers

GYGYC offers age-specific peer support groups for Young Carers aged 8 to 25 who are caring for their parents or supporting their parents in caring for a sibling. Through targeted activities that offer support, respite, fun and learning opportunities, facilitated by Youth Workers offering support with their coping mechanisms and strategies to improvement their physical and mental health.

Carers Identity Passport

People looking after family members or friends have said they want to be recognised as a carer when they are in healthcare settings. In order to help support carers with this a Carers Identity Passport is now available via Carers Voice Norfolk and Waveney, to ensure carers are recognised and can get the help and support they require.

The Carers Identity Passport is currently recognised within East Coast Community Healthcare, James Paget University Hospitals, Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals, Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust and Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust.
